A meeting to estimate the needs of the backward Korakkankaddu village for the year 2008 was undertaken on 2 February 2008 by CWDR with assistance from the North East Coastal Community Development Scheme.

The 150 selected villagers including the Gramasevakar attended the meeting.

After the Planning officer of North East Coastal Community Development Scheme, Ketheeswaran, explaned the program, the trainees from the village were broken into small groups and through them the needs of the village were identified.CWDR has taken the development of this village under its wings and has implemented the road renovation, preschool and library building projects in the past.
