Evicted and Livelihood denied by Militarized zones
The militarized zones (MZ) in the Northeast, referred to by everyone by the misnomer, High Security Zone (HSZ), have grown in size and severity over a period of 20 years. It has made nearly 300,000 people into long term refugees. A detailed statistics of the people evicted by the MZ and the livelihood lost as a result is described in the two following documents. The first one is a comprehensive statistics and the second one published by NESOHR is about the fishing community.
