Widespread shelling in Kaively in Mullaithivu injures thirteen civilians
Widespread explosions of SLA fired artillery shells in the Kaively settlement in the Mullaithivu around 12.30pm on 14 January, the Thaipongal Day, injured thirteen civilians.
The shells exploding over a range of three kilometers injured many IDPs who have displaced from Mullaiyavalai, Kumulamunai and Puthukudiyiruppu areas less than 6 weeks ago. People on the road, waiting to collect their IDP food relief, and were in their shelters were among the injured. At the same time two more civilians were injured in Visvamadu.
